#WorldSleepDay March 14th 2025
What is World Sleep Day?
Created and hosted by World Sleep Society, World Sleep Day is an internationally recognised event that builds connections and raises sleep health awareness.
Key messages for world sleep day 2025 are:
- Sleep is essential to our health – it helps support memory, brain health and helps the immune system clear bacteria and viruses
- Sleep health is multidimensional – this means sleep is more than just ‘’enough sleep’’. It includes: how well you fall asleep, the timing of when you sleep, your quality of sleep, your alertness when you are awake, your consistently of sleep and wake times and how much sleep you get over 24 hours.
- We must address sleep health disparities to improve general health across the world. These disparities can be both social (eg: financial strain, psychological stress) and environmental (eg: light, noise, temperature).
