LGBT+ History Month
June is LGBTQ+ History Month, and this year’s theme from Schools OUT is Science and Innovation. It’s a chance to celebrate LGBTQ+ people who have changed the world through amazing discoveries and ideas in Science.
For example, Alan Turing helped create the foundations of modern computers, George Washington Carver transformed farming and agricultural science through his research, and Nergis Mavalvala played an important role in the discovery of gravitational waves in space. Their achievements show how LGBTQ+ people have helped shape science, technology, and innovation and continue to inspire future generations to be curious, creative, and proud of who they are.
