Resilience

Setbacks, problems and failures are all part of life and something we all experience. As your teen grows up and takes on more challenges, they will experience more frustrations and complications. Teaching them to be resilient, so they can recover, adapt and keep going, will help them excel in both their personal and professional life.

As a parent or carer, you can role model resilient behaviours. Talk with them about your own experiences with knockbacks and failures and how you were able to recover and keep going. Some of the most successful people of all time have dealt with rejection and failure but go on to achieve great things.

Use the links below to find trusted support on this topic.  Additionally, encourage your child to use the Health Topic pages for their relevant age group here on Teen Health.  They can find more information and resources to support them.
