Family separation
There are lots of reasons why people separate or divorce. If this happens, it’s important to remember it’s not your fault and there are people you can talk to.
Separation and divorce can be a difficult and challenging time, you might feel stuck in the middle of your parents. You might feel a lot of emotions, such as: rejection, confusion and you may struggle to understand what is happening to your family. You may also experience feelings of grief if you no longer live with one of your parents.
The separation or divorce process may involve bad feelings between both parents, and you might notice this in your home. If you are struggling, seek support from other adults. It may be hard to discuss these feelings with your parents so it may be better to reach out to trusted teachers or friends around you.
