Turning 18

Turning 18 is an exciting time. It means more independence and opportunities to explore and experience many new things. You can do new things such as: buy a house, go for an alcohol drink, get a fulltime job and vote! With that though comes more responsibility as you are no longer a child.

You can drive from the age of 17 but you cannot hire a car in the UK until you are 23.

You can now vote.  Register to vote via the GOV UK website.

After you turn 18, you can rent your own house or flat and get a mortgage if you have enough money.
