Alcohol and Drugs

It’s normal for teenagers and young adults to experiment and take risks – drinking alcohol and trying drugs is one of the ways they might do this.

Teenagers are likely to drink alcohol at some point. However, it’s important that they understand the different effects that drinks may produce due to varying alcohol levels. They also need to understand the health implications and the law of consuming alcohol and drugs.

Talking about alcohol and drugs with your children is important. They are often curious and are likely to ask lots of questions. It's important to be as honest and open as possible with your answers.
